ABB's Generator Circuit Breakers (GCB) are widely used in all kind of power stations as gasturbine-, combined cycle- and thermal power plants as well as geo thermal, hydro and pumped storage power stations. Our GCB's have been applied in over 3'300 SF6 applications.

  • HGI-2/3

    from 30 MW up to 100 MW
    The openly installed GCB, for indoor use. Popular for replacement and retrofit in existing Hydro PP.

  • HECPS-3/5

    from 150 MW up to 500 MW
    GCB-system with integrated 5-phase reversal disconnector, breaking switch and starting switches.

  • HECI-3/5R

    from 80 MW up to 300 MW
    The openly installed GCB for indoor use - extremly compact for replacement and retrofit.

  • HECS

    from 80 MW up to 300 MW
    The metal enclosed GCB-system for in- and outdoor use. Broadly used in all kind of power plants.

  • HEC-7/8

    from 450 MW up to 1500 MW
    The youngest member of the HEC family for thermal and nuclear PP. Short circuit current of 210 kA.
