The real-time process database is entirely distributed to the controllers. These are functionally complete and able to perform logic control, regulatory control and advanced calculations. This ensures that all processing and control can be performed on the spot, that is, data does not have to be sent elsewhere for processing and return of the result.
Consequently, the control system can be structured according to the process requirements without restrictions imposed by limitations in the control system. The result is a “clean” structure with a high degree of integrity.
