By selecting the appropriate field-bus-plug (FBP), this field-bus-neutral system can be simply connected to the desired field bus. The compact-size bus module already contains 16 digital I/Os, and can be linked up to a maximum of seven expansion modules, enabling it to be upgraded to as many as 240 I/Os. Analog and digital modules can be mixed without any problems.
