Reliable protection and control for your transformers
RET 670 provides fast and selective protection, monitoring and control for shunt reactors and any type of transformer: two- and three-winding transformers, autotransformers, phase shifting transformers, shunt reactors including switching control, step-up transformers in power stations and special railway transformers.
In addition, a wide range of protection functions is available to provide complementary protection of transformer and surrounding network. This means that RET 670 allows you to protect and control several objects, for instance a transformer and a line with one single IED.
The RET 670 IEDs are delivered pre-configured, type tested and set with default parameters for fast and efficient commissioning. The IEDs are equipped with complete functionality adapted for two winding, single and multi-breaker as well as three winding, single and multi-breaker arrangements. If needed, they can also be easily adapted to meet the specific requirements of your power system. The wide application flexibility makes these IEDs an excellent choice for both new and retrofit installations.
The extremely fast differential protection function with automatic CT ratio matching and vector group compensation, makes RET 670 the ideal solution for the most demanding applications. Furthermore, one RET 670 IED can be extended to contain two differential protection functions to protect the most advanced system configurations. This transformer protection IED is designed to operate correctly over a wide frequency range in order to accommodate power system frequency variations during disturbances and generator start-up and shut-down. It has very low requirements on the main CTs, and no interposing CTs are required.
RET 670 features also several functions for local and remote apparatus control on all sides of the transformer. Secure bay and station wide interlocking allows you to avoid dangerous or damaging switchgear operations and to ensure personnel safety.
The RET 670 IEDs feature a large HMI for local control and instantly accessing important data, such as settings, events and disturbance information. You can control and visualize locally up to 30 primary apparatuses. The large HMI provides you a quick overview of the status of the substation with position indications and service values.
