Bay control IED REC 670

for optimized control and reliable operation of your switchyard

Low resolution, 70x90 pxREC 670 IED (Intelligent Electronic Device) is designed for the control, monitoring and protection of circuit breakers, disconnectors and earthing switches in any type of switchgear configurations. Additionally, they enable the manual control of a tap-changer from a Substation Automation system. The versatile hardware and functionality of the REC 670 IEDs allow for application in both single and multiple bay arrangements.

The REC 670 IEDs are delivered pre-configured, type tested and set with default parameters for fast and efficient commissioning. These IEDs are equipped with complete functionality adapted for single, double and 1 ½ circuit breaker arrangements. If needed, they can also be easily adapted to meet the specific requirements of your power system. Furthermore you can increase the functionality of your REC 670 IEDs with optional backup protection functions.

The REC 670 IEDs feature a large HMI for local control and instantly accessing important data, such as settings, events and disturbance information. The control is based on the select before operate principle to ensure secure operation and to avoid human mistakes. You can select the Control Screen as a default screen. This way you can directly execute control commands and read the most important measurements. All the measurements available in the IED can be shown on the HMI, you can freely select which measurements should be presented. The graphical display can be easily configured to correspond to your substation.

REC 670 is able to handle a large number of analog signals from CTs and VTs. The outstanding I/O capability enables control of several bays with complete measurement with only one IED. For instance, one REC 670 IED is capable of handling control of all apparatuses in one entire diameter in 1 ½ breaker arrangement including breaker failure protection for all breakers.
