Input of data
Besides data such as main voltage, frequency, altitude and ambient temperature, a motor shall also be specified. If it is an ABB motor the selection will be easy since there is a database with almost all ABB motors in the software. Sometimes it is not possible to get all required data but the software will give a proposal based on the most common applications that can be used.
Calculation Data
When all data is filled-in the next step is the calculation. The software will give a starting time and a corresponding starting current. If you modify the starting current you will receive corresponding starting times, which gives you the opportunity to find you own optimal solution. Meanwhile processing, every draft is also visualized with graphs.
Results - Softstarter selection
Based on the in-data and the calculation, a number of Softstarters within the ABB range will be shown, suitable for your specific application. You will find the PS S range of Softstarters both In-line and Inside delta connected as well as PS D and PS DH types listed. When the selection is done a report can be created (a Word document) which you can send to your customer. This contains all the in-data, calculations and the resulting selection of softstarter. On page two there will be graphs showing the starting torque and current.
