May 27, 2008 – So we got started! Report from the first fair day

At 09:00 this morning the gates were opened to the fortieth SPCI-fair.The stands are slowly filled and the expectations are high.

During the morning this first fair day it’s still quite calm in the exhibition hall but the exhibitors are calm and expect a steady increase of visitors during the day.

Martin Ottosson, Force Measurement, has it started yet?
– Well, it’s no immediate rush but as experienced fair participant you ain’t worried, it’s usually this calm the first hours. I expect great things from tomorrow when I think there will be really many visitors.

What do you expect of the fair on your behalf?
– I have high expectations. I think we can get some new customers and deepen some present contacts. I also think that the interest in the fair of this year is especielly great considering SPCI’s anniversary and the coming celebration at Gröna Lund.

Why is it important for you to exhibit at SPCI?
– There are several reasons why we are here. Of course we want to get new customers but it’s also important to meet existing customers and take care of that relation. It’s important to show your presence on this important market. Besides it’s an opportunity to peep at the competitors and their offers.

During the day ABB’s stand was gradually filled and two of the visitors were Pernilla and Therese from Stora Enso in Nymölla.

What brings you to the SPCI fair?
– We work in the lab at the fine paper mill so we are interested in lab equipment and possibilities in our area. Then of course we have a general interest in the business and the market.

What attracted in ABB’s stand?
– We were ”thrown in” by your ”bundles of energy” (students from ABB High school in Västerås, editors’ note). They really did a good job and were undeniable successful.

Both of you dared to get up in the saddle of the Life cycle, how did it go?
– Phew, it was real hard but very funny. We are second and third on the list over most returned energy. Without this cold we had been in the absolute top, ha,ha,ha.

Are you interested in anything special in ABB’s stand?
– We ain’t got time to study everything yet but it’s always funny and interesting to see which products and solutions you are offering.

What do you think about the stand?
– It’s super, very bright and airy. All the information is easy to grasp and clear. It’s also great with so much helpful staff in the stand.
