2008-03-19 - The aim of the class is for our customers to gain hands-on experience with the PCD relay control and OVR reclosers.
ABB Medium Voltage Outdoor Products hosted their first OVR Recloser and PCD training class for 2008 in Lake Mary, Florida on March 12 & 13th. A total of 18 people attended, which included 15 customers from 8 different utilities, 2 Wesco salespeople, and one FES person from ABB Saudi Arabia.
Midway through 2007, the outdoor marketing team and application engineering group identified a need to increase the attendance for training at the Lake Mary factory. Customers were accustomed to onsite training, which led to less factory visits. Through increased marketing of the training classes, attendance was increased substantially. As a result, the December 2007 class was attended by 8 customers from 5 different utilities, along with several participants from ABB China and ABB Czech Republic.
The aim of the class is for our customers to gain hands-on experience with the PCD relay control and OVR reclosers. Each participant is provided with a PCD for training.
In addition, customers are taught by the 24-7 technical support team – Roger Jerez and Alan Swain.
The two day class includes a group dinner sponsored by ABB in order to allow users to interact and share information.
Future 2008 dates for the training class are June 18 & 19; September 24 & 25, and December 10 & 11.
On April 9 & 10 we will host our 2nd annual OVR Recloser and PCD relay training in Spanish.
